Portrait & Headshot Photography in Southampton
I'm Ryan Stanikk, a portrait and headshot photographer based in Southampton, and I believe a good portrait is more than just a likeness -it's about capturing personality. My goal is always to create images that feel natural, confident, and true to the individual. Whether it's a professional headshot for LinkedIn, a relaxed lifestyle portrait, or something more creative, I work with each person to put them at ease and bring out their best side. Lighting and composition play a huge part, but so does conversation and connection -people open up when they feel comfortable, and that's when the most genuine images happen.
Who I Work With
I photograph individuals, founders, teams and public figures across Hampshire and the UK, including Portsmouth, Winchester and London. Previous portrait clients include Solent University, Flowminder, Ocean Grill and a range of personal branding projects. I can shoot on location at your office, home or a venue, or set up a portable studio on site for consistent team headshots. Corporate headshot sessions can also be paired with event photography if you need both on the same day.
Built for Purpose
My design background means I think about how each portrait will be used -whether that's a website banner, a press release, a social profile or printed materials. If you also need lifestyle imagery of your team in action, I can combine both styles in one efficient session. Check the FAQs for common questions, get in touch or grab an instant quote.

What should I wear for a headshot session?
Keep it simple and stick to solid colours that suit your skin tone. Avoid bold patterns and large logos as they tend to distract. Bring a couple of outfit options and we can decide on the day based on the backdrop and lighting. For corporate headshots, wear what you'd normally wear to work.
Can you photograph a whole team in one session?
Yes, team headshot sessions are one of the most common bookings I do. I bring portable studio lighting and set up on site at your office or venue. Each person takes around 10-15 minutes, so even a large team can be done in a half day without pulling everyone away from work for long.
What if I'm not comfortable in front of the camera?
Most people aren't, and that's completely normal. I'll chat to you throughout the session, give you clear direction, and keep things relaxed. By the time we're a few minutes in, you'll have stopped thinking about the camera. The best portraits come from genuine moments, not forced smiles.
